“We were looking for a source of heating, and we wanted something to fit in the corner. And we went down and saw Martin and just checked out what was available. The colors were, of course, an instant attraction, the variety, and because I'm such a flame person, I wanted to see a natural flame. It's changed our lives, really the way we live. Because I like coming in and sitting and reading a book and just hanging out with the dogs and husband sits and watches sport in the other room, the heat just throws out and heats the whole of the downstairs. So, yeah, it's really enjoyable. I think it would suit anybody, but I guess in particular, people who are busy, who don't have the time in the morning to be loading up firewood. You just put your pellets in, you turn it on, you know, it's going to go for the day. You can have it as hot or, you know, or as cool as you like. Yeah, the dogs love it. And when we go out to work, we just put it on low, and they just sit and just chill out while we're away. And we know that the house is warm and they're happy. It's instant it's clean. You just rip open the bag and you pour it in the top and the hopper. And I don't have to worry about carrying in wood or spiders coming out of the wood, stacking or anything else. And we find it economical, because we can just buy as little or as much as we need at a time. It's just clean. And I love it.”

“Pellet fires are the most efficient fire, and it's because the pellets are 100% dry and anyone who's burning firewood that's not 100% dry, which is everyone who's burning firewood, they're polluting. And also, you need a lot of space to store firewood, and you're handling lots and lots of heavy wood, you know, and you just don't want to be doing that. When you can pick up a 15 kilo bag, pour it in the thing, push a GO button, and there's your fire done. If you've had a log burner, you know how long it takes to clean it out from the previous night's fire to lighting today's fire, and how long that takes to get the house warm with a pellet fire, it takes you, like, two seconds, and the fire is clean once a week, it takes you a minute. That's the longest it takes to clean the fire. The guy next door to us has a log burner, and one of the great joys I have is splitting a bag and pouring it into the fire as I listen to him cutting and swearing as he's cutting his kindling, you know, and I love that sound as I'm going, he's going, and there I am. My fire is already going, and he's still in his backyard, cutting his kindling and splitting his firewood and stuff. It's just funny. It's so primitive. We looked at all the different fires. We chose the Rika 5 because it was the top of the line fire. It's the most reliable fire, and it burns the most economically and it's easy to control.”
